Ohhh...Mama Mia!

I know that I am sooo yesterday, actually so last week on the whole Mama Mia thing. Remember my handicap... my man does not like to go to the movies- ESPECIALLY musical ones! Well today I finally got to see it. I went with my boyfriend and his boyfriend...my neighbors-Dean and Paul. They have seen the play a million times, lived and partied in the ABBA era, and are very very musical sooooo... they didn't love the movie. Although they thought Pierce Brosnan was hot in the movie ( funny- having this conversation) they could not believe he was cast in a singing role. They just died throughout the whole movie at his voice. Until now I thought it was a curse to be really and truly tone deaf..but today I guess it paid off because I loved loved loved the movie. Until now Europe meant only Italy to me... now I need to go to Greece as well. I am a huge Big Love fan so I loved Sophie... she looks better as a beach babe than she does as a Utah polygamist. I just smiled the whole movie... wanted to get up and dance. Actually, I would love to live in a musical- where when you wanted to make a point- you just burst into song. I would have to know how to sing if I lived in musical-land, but I would work a little harder if I had monologues in song to do. I loved Hairspray last summer- I just wanted to dance right out of that theater and I felt the same way today. Too bad my dates didn't love it like I did.
See... ignorance is bliss!
P.S. If you saw it...comment! If you haven't seen it...comment! If you don't want to see it...Comment! In otherwords... If you are reading this post, COMMENT! Too bossy? Come on- help a girl out!

Chicka I will always be there for you,

Now, about this movie, want to see it, but the boss needs to wait to see it at our own house, so that nobody will take his man card away from him... (so he thinks)

Hey Sweetie! I loved it too! I finally got to go this weekend and laughed, cried and am seriously very tempted to buy the soundtrack! I thought it was funny how great and crappy Merle Streep could look in the same movie. She looked really rough the first 45 minutes and by the wedding she looked amazing! How old is she anyway? She looks so much better than she has in years!

I met your brother-in-law Collin in St.George while picking up tickets to Jack Johnson from him. What a patient guy! We had screaming kids in the car and I wasn't paying very close attention to his directions, but we finally met up! What a great family!

Hope you are doing well! I love keeping up on what exciting thing you have going one next! So, keep blogging!

OK, I totally pictured the whole thing. You, Paul, Dean in the theater and you with a great big grin. And I am sitting here with a great big grin wishing I would have been there with y'all. That would have been beautiful. I am dying to see this show. Ya know, If I recall right you were once in musicals. South Pacific maybe? You were a hit girl, I was soooooo jealous. You were a total babe! I'm thnkin you really should of stuck with it, I can totally see you walkin the red carpet, glitz and glam galore.
Oh Well......
But hey, you made the right choice to join the Music Company instead, we couldn't have done it without you. I can't even imagine the Rainbow Connection without you.
Is all I can say is Thank You......
HA HA HE HE HA HA HE HE
Love ya tons!

Sorry, don't get to the movies very often and when I do it is usually a kid movie. That's one I may have to plan a Girl's Night for!

I watched a five minute movie review of Mama Mia on the CBS Sunday Morning News warning people of its sheer and utter badness (two minutes were spent on Pierce Brosnan's voice alone).

But I still want to see it.

And I also want to live in a musical.

And sometimes pretend that I do.

I really liked it! I was hoping that everyone would get up dance like I wanted to. But they all just sat there like bumps on a log and we danced secretly in our seats. Was Pierce even singing? I mean, he is soooooo hot, he could be reading out of the dictionary and I wouldn't notice.

I love to get comments too, even from weird people I don't know:) I love your background!

Soooo want to see it. I love musicals, Sound of Music, Grease, Annie, Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang....

And for the record I do live in a musical. I walk around all day singing songs in my head. If I think I'm all alone I might even hum a few bars, or if I KNOW I'm alone I might sing a line or two. It's fun living in my musical, come on over!

Fair warning: I'm not a great singer.

I wish life could be a musical too. But then I would need to posess some mad singing skills. Unless I just played the piano for everyone else to sing....oh wait, I do that already.

I can't wait to see this. It may be awhile since all my girls went to see it while I was at Lake Powell. Rudeness.

Glad you finally went to see it! When do we get to see your neighbors? You MUST buy ABBA greatest hits! I promise you will love it!

I'm pretty sure I would love this movie because I LOVE ABBA! I'm so with you about living in a musical, I think that would be fabulous. My aunt was teaching a sunday school class once to a bunch of 14 year olds that were being very rude and disruptive so she broke out in "R-E-S-P-E-C-T, ..." Aretha style. It got their attention.

You are so lucky that you got to see the movie with your boyfriends! That must have been fun! I too, loved the movie! It was cheesy, but that's what that show is about! Meryl Streep is so good in anything she does... I really luv her!

I'm dying to see this. I have heard so many good things about this movie.

I haven't seen it yet either, and my handicap is Ryan. He will not go see chick flicks out in the theater. He just won't and especially a musical, it might put him right over the top!

So, I see a girl's night a comin'!

Haven't seen the movie YET but saw the show in vegas a few years back and LOVED it!

I'd never get my husband to see that either, and I don't have a boyfriend :( Maybe I can convince a girl friend to go - or wait till its on DVD and rent it (what I usually do)

SAW IT, LOVED IT! I love musicals and yes, some of it was a bit out there, but it is still wonderful! I haven't heard that much laughing at the movies in a long time! I went with my husband and he liked it, but would have been more fun with the girlfriends! I want to see it again! Merle Streep is awesome and I loved her reaction to the priest that she "hadn't had sex with 100's" and when she told the girls that she used to have fun and they chimmed in "we know" What great acting all around. The whole theater broke into applause at the end....yes everyone should have been up dancing in the asiles!!!

GIrl, you crack me up! I'd live in musical land too, but only if I had a really rad voice. Something kinda cool and edgy! I love Mama Mia!

Saw it- loved it!
However, we took our teens with us (three girls 10,13&14 one boy, 16)The girls thought it was fantastic. They were quoting lines from the show on the way to the car fun, Fun, FUN! My son on the other hand, lifted up the arm rests and slept, thinking that was a better use of his time. What is it with the man gene?
